If you, as a Calvinist, keep stubbornly holding onto Calvinism that is contrary to the Word of God, this can easily be shown via God's Word, you will end up losing out on the relationship God desires to have with you. Please take off Calvinism and listen to the Word of God. Calvinism IS NOT the Gospel. The bible IS the Gospel. The Gospel is Good News. It's not good news if you are not one of the elect that you will never have even a chance to have a loving relationship with God and will suffer for all eternity in the flames of hell and not by your choice.
Deuteronomy 30:15-20 ... 15 “See, I HAVE SET BEFORE YOU TODAY LIFE AND GOOD, DEATH AND EVIL, 16 in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess. 17 But IF YOUR HEART TURNS AWAY SO THAT YOU DO NOT HEAR, and are drawn away, and worship other gods and serve them, 18 I announce to you today that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to go in and possess. 19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore CHOOSE LIFE, THAT BOTH YOU and YOUR DESCENDANTS MAY LIVE; 20 that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”
Clear as a bell. I have the responsibility to choose. God set before you LIFE AND GOOD, DEATH AND EVIL therefore CHOOSE LIFE, THAT YOU MAY LIVE. How clearer do you need God to make it that if you are not the one completing the other part of the relationship that there won't be one. You need two willing parties to have a relationship otherwise it's not a relationship but a dictatorship. God doesn't want a dictatorship with humanity, He wants a relationship. It doesn't say that God will choose for mankind. It is clear that if you turn your heart away and don't listen and obey God that you'll perish.

Either God means it that we can choose between good and evil or reformers, like R.C. Sproul, are right when they say that it's a pagan thing that we can choose between good and evil. If God is right then the reformers are liars and deceivers. They CANNOT both be right.

2 Peter 3:8-9 ... 8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, NOT WILLING that ANY should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance.
And in 1 Timothy 2:1-8 ... 1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for ALL MEN; 2 For kings, and for ALL that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For THIS IS GOOD AND ACCEPTABLE IN THE SIGHT OF GOD OUR SAVIOUR; 4 WHO WILL HAVE ALL MEN TO BE SAVED, AND TO COME UNTO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave himself a ransom for ALL, to be testified in due time. 7 Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not; a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity. 8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
The bible says in 1 John 4:1, 6 ... 1 Beloved, BELIEVE NOT EVERY SPIRIT, BUT TRY THE SPIRITS WHETHER THEY ARE OF GOD: because MANY FALSE PROPHETS are gone out into the world. 6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. HEREBY KNOW WE THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH, and THE SPIRIT OF ERROR.
In Acts 17:10-15 ... 10 Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. 11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. 12 Therefore many of them believed, and also not a few of the Greeks, prominent women as well as men. 13 But when the Jews from Thessalonica learned that the word of God was preached by Paul at Berea, they came there also and stirred up the crowds. 14 Then immediately the brethren sent Paul away, to go to the sea; but both Silas and Timothy remained there. 15 So those who conducted Paul brought him to Athens; and receiving a command for Silas and Timothy to come to him with all speed, they departed.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-22 ... 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise prophecies. 21 Test all things; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil.
And 2 Corinthians 11:9-15 ... 9 And when I was present with you, and in need, I was a burden to no one, for what I lacked the brethren who came from Macedonia supplied. And in everything I kept myself from being burdensome to you, and so I will keep myself. 10 As the truth of Christ is in me, no one shall stop me from this boasting in the regions of Achaia. 11 Why? Because I do not love you? God knows! 12 But what I do, I will also continue to do, THAT I MAY CUT OFF THE OPPORTUNITY FROM THOSE WHO DESIRE AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE REGARDED JUST AS WE ARE IN THE THINGS OF WHICH THEY BOAST. 13 FOR SUCH ARE FALSE APOSTLES, DECEITFUL WORKERS, TRANSFORMING THEMSELVES INTO APOSTLES o2f CHRIST. 14 And no wonder! FOR SATAN HIMSELF TRANSFORMS HIMSELF INTO AN ANGEL OF LIGHT. 15 Therefore IT IS NO GREAT THING if his MINISTERS also TRANSFORM THEMSELVES INTO MINISTERS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, whose end will be according to their works.
So if R.C. Sproul says things contrary of the Word of God, as I've shown in a few passages, it makes him a satanic preacher of righteousness. This is not my words but God's Word.
Another example: Revelation 3:20 ... Behold, I stand at the door and knock. IF anyone hears My voice and OPENS the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
Again clear as a bell. It does not say that He'll smash through the door if you don't open it. Although, as this one Calvinist once said, "if you are one of the elect God will get you even if He has to drag you kicking and screaming into the pearly gates".
In Jeremiah 19:4-6 ... 4 “BECAUSE THEY HAVE FORSAKEN ME and made this an alien place, because they have burned incense in it to other gods whom neither they, their fathers, nor the kings of Judah have known, and have filled this place with the blood of the innocents 5 they have also built the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings to Baal, WHICH I DID NOT COMMAND OR SPEAK, NOR DID IT COME INTO MY MIND, 6 therefore behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “that this place shall no more be called Tophet or the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter.
Notice it starts off saying that the people had forsaken Him first. Then after saying what they did after they had forsaken God ... God says it never even entered His mind!!! How is that possible if the Calvinists are right when they say that everything is preordained by God for His Glory and by His own free will and that nothing ever happens that God didn't preordain???? If He preordained it then it obviously already entered His mind because He thought about it, then decided what will happen and declared it. So is God lying at this point or is Calvinism wrong? You can't have it both ways. Or is God perhaps getting forgetful? Or is it like many true bible believers believe that perhaps God never preordained everything that ever happened but rather only certain things and He FOREKNEW everything that was going to happen? If someone wants me to believe that God preordained everything that ever happened, including what satan and Adam did, then show me the verse that litterally says it in exactly those words so that it cannot possibly be interpreted in any other way, like the verses that I'm quoting here.
Jeremiah 31:19 ... Surely, after my turning, I repented; and after I was instructed, I struck myself on the thigh; I was ashamed, yes, even humiliated, Because I bore the reproach of my youth.’
Repentance is something we do out of our own free will. It doesn't say that this person was preordained or forced to repent.
Look at these passages ...
Exodus 32:14 ... 14 And THE LORD REPENTED of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.
Genesis 6:6 ... And IT REPENTED THE LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
Exodus 20:5 ... Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God AM A JEALOUS GOD, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
Judges 2:18 ... And when the Lord raised them up judges, then the Lord was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: for IT REPENTED THE LORD because of their groanings by reason of them that oppressed them and vexed them.
2 Samuel 24:16 ... And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, THE LORD REPENTED him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough: stay now thine hand. And the angel of the Lord was by the threshing place of Araunah the Jebusite.
1 Chronicles 21:15 ... And God sent an angel unto Jerusalem to destroy it: and as he was destroying, THE LORD BEHELD, AND HE REPENTED him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed, It is enough, stay now thine hand. And the angel of the Lord stood by the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
Is God evil? The God of the Bible is not evil. But He will punish people for their disobedience.
Jonah 3:10 says ... And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.
I thought He predestined it??!! So He changed His mind? I thought Calvinists say that God's decrees cannot be changed ... ever!!!
James 5:16 ... Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
We can ask God for things and He'll do it??? How can our prayers avail anything if everything is preordained outside of anything we do or don't do? The logical conclusion of Calvinism is that God NEVER really answers prayers. It's just an act in a play. Something we do because we are actors in the play God wrote.
I believe that we should just take God's Word at face value. I could go on for hours but I'll end here.
